Why do you do this?

I have always loved Chirstmas because of the joy that comes with the holiday and the LIGHTS.

2. How many lights do you have?

There was about 52,000 lights for 2007 and for 2008 we had over 102,000 lights, but in for 2009 there will be a total of 127,000 lights "Awesome".

3.How much power does it take? How much is your electric bill?

If all the lights were on the show will pull over 360 amps so I needed to add a sub panel with 12 20 amp breakers to handle the power demand. The good thing about an animated light display is that only 30% of the display will be on at a given time. The electric bill is always high because the AC is all ways on, were in the sunshine state Florida were its always sunny, the bill goes up only $100 for the months of November and December.

4. Who helps you put all the lights?

That is never a problem with the help of the whole family and the neighbors come out to help ever year.

5. How much time does it take?

Like any hobby, if you love doing what you do you will not care how long it will take. When it comes to programming the lights to the rhythm of the music I can take up to 180 hrs on any given song.

6. How long does it take to put up the lights ?

There are a lot of lights so I start putting up the lights in late September. I always start with putting on the roof lights first, then the trees, and finally the rest of the display, the main reason for doing this is because the grass here in FL just keeps growing so I wait for the very last minute to put everything else that goes on the grass.

7. How much did it all cost?

The cost for the display was more then what was in my range for spending but once you start you just cannot stop, so lets just say that I could have bought a brand new Ford Focus "fully loaded!".

8. Who did you voiceovers?

Since my voice isnt the best for a voice over I decided to have my friends at www.thedementedelf.com do it for me.

9. How many channels do you have?

In the 2007 display there was a total of 96 channels, for 2008 I had 304 channels, and for 2009 there were 352 channels of LOR.

www.DelgadoLights.com
